Henry Levine - Therapist at Heart Mind Soul Therapy New York

Henry Levine LMSW

I am a firm believer that although therapy is hard work, there should be humor and levity while tackling the hard work of change together. I believe therapy is best when it's a collaborative process, so you won't feel judged or talked down to in our work together. We are on the same team and will work towards finding solutions that fit your particular goals. In working with me you can expect a warm and authentic, strengths-based approach. A typical session might range from exploring a recent event from the week, identifying relational patterns, or enacting a targeted behavioral intervention.

With over 7 years in the field, working in psychiatric hospital programs, college counseling centers & school systems, I've had the honor of providing therapy to folks struggling with a variety of issues from depression, anxiety, relationship issues, stress and life dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, as well as grief and loss.

I consider it a privilege to do this work and know how hard it can be to ask for help. I'd like to make the process as smooth as possible for you, which is why I offer a 15 minute complimentary consultation call - so that we can talk and figure out if we're a good fit. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss your goals for therapy!

Get to know Henry…

  • For me this work is about the relationship I have with my clients. Anybody can Google breathing strategies on their own, but exploring intense feelings of sadness, shame, guilt, and even anger takes trust in the therapeutic relationship. It is really powerful to witness clients exploring parts of themselves that they have not looked into before, and even more powerful to see the change that follows that.

  • Crying in H Mart, Michelle Zauner; A Gentleman in Moscow, Amor Towles; Where the Crawdads Sing, Delia Owens; The Dutch House, Anne Patchet; The Goldfinch, Donna Tartt

  • "If it is impossible for you to go on as you were before, so you must go on as you never have." - Cheryl Strayed

  • If I wasn't a therapist, I think it would be really cool to work for an organization like the Appalachian Mountain Club or the American Alpine Club, advocating for the environment and equal access to the outdoors. I grew up in Vermont and have always found comfort in being in nature, hiking, climbing, and want to preserve that right for others.
